The workshops are based on your understanding of Yoruba culture and its diverse richness in music and ceremonial drumming activities. The workshop will provides a small preview of cultural practices involving circular and ceremonial drumming. The course is therefor for people who have a good understanding and some knowledge of West African practice and Yoruba Orisha practices in the Northern hemisphere (Cuba, Brazil, Trinidad, etc.,). All beginners and intermediate students our welcomed to the workshops. AwoIfaleke will share insight in the characteristics of playing and singing Yoruba oriki in circular and ceremonial drumming styles, it’s basic fundamental reasons and functions.The aim will be to have students learn basic forms of the studied material and understanding of the history of circular and ceremonial Bata Drumming in Cuba with the inclusion of Orisha singing styles of Havana and Matanzas workshop projects will take place in the London, Cuba and Nigeria
