Egbe Oduniyi School of Bata Drumming - is dedicated to enhancing the ceremonial aspects and reasoning of Bata drumming in Cuba, Nigeria and the world. Our workshop programs focuses on sharing the holistic approach of Bata Drumming; its purpose, history, techniques and skills.The school also serves as an information Portal for people based or live in Europe, African Caribbean and Asia, who are interested in Bata drumming and Yoruba culture. Teacher(s) - Ifaleke Haynes Omo Ana Dolapo Ogodo is a UK based Jazz musician, ceremonial drummer for the Ifa orisa Yoruba communities in the UK Cuba and Nigeria and the founder of Egbe Oduniyi School of Bata Drumming. Ifaleke has been running drumming educational projects and teaching ceremonial Yoruba and Cuban drumming styles for over 10 years sharing insight in the characteristics of playing and singing in circular and ceremonial drumming styles, it's basic fundamental reasons and functions.

Bata drumming workshop take place in West London on a weekly or project workshops which are based on 2 day to 4 week programmed workshops Greetings Family and everyone Kevin Ifaleke will be teaching a session workshp of Yoruba Bata drumming and Orisa oriki singing on Thursday and Fridays from 730pm -9pm the workshop will take place at the Grove resourse centre St Marks Road W11 nearst staion is Ladbroke grove tube station we have session on the follwing days in November Thursdays and Friday and in December Thursday and Friday please call or text to confrim your attending the workshop seesion on the timers above 07432635582 as we will need to let you in to the buliding buzzy intercom we look forward to seeing you at the workshops The bata drumming class starts 7pm - 8pm Orisa Oriki singing starts 8pm-9pm. Egbe Oduniyi School Of Bata drumming Focusing Matanzas Bata drumming style the cradle of Bata drumming in Cuba A six day intensive Bata drumming and Oriki Orisa singing workshop in city of Matanzas Cuba Studying the Matanzas Ori seco and Orisa Oriki songs Matanzas Cuba 25th January 2020 With Tutors Ilu Ana and Ifa Priest Awo Ifaleke and members of the legendary Afro Cuba de Matanzas Pedro Pablo nicked name Pello and Ana Perez form Muniqutoes de Matanzas Oriki Orisa with basic Orisa dance movements The Aim of this workshop program is to point a spot light on the oldest Cuban form of Bata drumming and its context giving interested students the opportunity to experience understand and be able to play the basic foundation in the Matanzas style of Bata drumming and Oriki Orisa singing with an option to do a one hour orisa dance class which is not included in the fees for this workshop( an arranged fee would be worked out with the dance tutor and students. Egbe Oduniyi School of Bata drumming will like to invite students to participate in the workshop which will take place in the city of Matanzas Cuba over the course of six days workshops the sessions will be a four hours a day intensive study please check for more details on our itinerary and activities details places are limited there are 9 places available for the workshop Workshop fess is £600 and accommodation for 6 nights, Egbe Oduniyi School of Bata drumming will book the apartment or Hotel for the students which will be situated close to where the workshop will be taking place in Matanzas or Egbe Oduniyi School of Bata drumming can book your hotel or Apartment/rooms for you within the time frame of the workshop program 6 nights if students want us to book the hotel or apartment rooms you will need to have paid for the workshop fee and accommodation fees by December 1st 2020 so we can do all of the accommodation bookings early as many of the hotels and a apartments get full booked. If your booking you own accommodation you will need make sure you have already booked a hotel or apartment room before you make a booking to be on the Bata drumming workshop program or make sure you have booked a hotel or accommodation before the 30th December 2020 when you have done the booking you will need to confirm with us the address details and a contact number of the apartment or hotel you have selected so we can meet you or call to confirm itinerary of workshop program If it’s your first time to Cuba we will send some recommended links of places in Mantazas where you can stay.
